Guest speaker Mr. Simon Walker Managing Director of Homes by Carlton.
Mr. Walker stated that work is due to start in February 2025 and sells of houses within 18 months.

07-11/24 COMPLAINT BY RESIDENT TO HAVE TREE SAPLINGS CUT AWAY
Large Tree on the Green near East View has off shoots which are a concern to resident and wishes them cut back. Councillors agreed this needs to be done.

Note 4 – Lower branches of some Cherry trees need cutting back, safety issue. Agreed the Clerk could carry out this work

Note 5 – DBC to cut back overhanging branches of tree opposite The Tuns, public house that is encroaching on private property. DBC state a request needs to go into Planning as tree is in a conservation area. Council agreed to make this request ACTION : Clerk
Note 6 – Councillor Schott to reinstate No Parking sign on green in front of Mayfield House.

Note 7 – Vegetation on banks of spring behind houses of Goodwood Close. Resident Mr Yole volunteered to see to this in the spring.

Note 8 – Railings around Village Green require painting in the spring.

Note 9 – Young Tree self-seeded by garage near Pleasant View House requests removable due to damage it will cause to the garage. Agreed to remove the tree.

Note 10 – Hanging baskets, suggestion to use GEM nursey to make them. Suggestion to have a stand pipe and tap fitted to make watering easier. Councill agreed to ask for volunteers for the upkeep of the hanging baskets to be asked for again in the spring and for the Clerk to look at the cost and process of fitting a stand pipe

Note 11 – New QR codes for the Airfield memorial and Jubilee Stone. Councillor Murphy agreed to look at this and come up with text history for the QR codes

Whether to make permanent, to make up to full salary, whether to enrol on the Clerk course. Councillors agreed to make H North permanent in the post, to make up to full salary and to review the salary at next meeting, to take into account inflation, and to be enrolled on the ILCA Clerk’s course.

13-11/24 RESIDENT REQUEST TO USE EV CHARGER ON PARISH COUNCIL LAND – Councillor Hurst.
Mr Hurst has sent a letter to the Council requesting the Parish Council allows him to use a EV charger on Parish Council land and for the Parish Clerk to write a letter to his EV provider that permission has been granted by the Council for the EV charger to be used on Parish Council land. Council wishes
to look into this further to check for any legal problems or issues arising from EV charger use on Parish Council land. Councillor Macrae wishes to seek further legal advice from a solicitor and to look at having a disclaimer made up for Mr Hurst to sign. Clerk to look at the cost of a disclaimer sign to be made and erected. Clerk to also seek advice from NALC and other bodies on any possible issues the Council may encounter with allowing this request. This item is be carried forward to the next Parish Council meeting.

14-11/24 MR LOWTHER HAS NOT USED ALL THE MONEY GIVEN BY THE COUNCIL – Clerk
Mr Lowther has £91.00 left over for him to buy any plants or equipment the Council may need to repair any Council property. Council agreed to Mr Lowther holding on to the money and to use as and when he needs to buy items for the Parish Council.
